What is the ELIGIBILITY FOR DIRECT MBBS ADMISSION IN MAHARASHTRA?
To be eligible for management quota or NRI quota seats for direct MBBS admission in Maharashtra or any other Indian state, you must meet the eligibility requirements listed below. These requirements have been set by the National Commission of India (NMC).
-Candidates must have completed their 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% of marks for general category candidates and 40% of marks for reserved category candidates from any recognized board, and they must be from the Science stream with Biology as a mandatory subject.
-Candidates must be at least 17 years old to be considered.
-Candidates must get the minimum cutoff in the NEET UG entrance exam to be eligible.
-Government medical institutes and private medical colleges affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik, do not accept applicants from outside the state of Maharashtra for MBBS admission because Maharashtra is a closed state for MBBS admission, closed state doesn’t allow other states students. Through MCC India, they can apply to deemed medical colleges in Maharashtra.

PROCEDURE FOR DIRECT MBBS ADMISSION IN MAHARASHTRA-

Candidates must pass the NEET UG entrance exam to be eligible for MBBS seats. After passing the NEET UG entrance exam, candidates must register for counseling at MCC India and/or DMER Maharashtra. After completing registration, candidates will be given options for choosing their preferred institutes. The counseling authorities will then provide seat availability allotments depending on the candidates’ choices and other factors, such as NEET scores.
There will be two rounds of counseling; if a candidate is not allotted in round 1, they may register and make new selections in round 2. If there are still open seats after the two counseling rounds, mop-up rounds will be conducted by the counseling authority.
ABOUT NEET UG COUNSELLING-
There are two NTA NEET counseling programs: All India and State. The NEET UG counseling includes the seats listed below.
All India Quota MCC Counseling Procedure: 15% of seats in all government medical and dental colleges, all seats at deemed universities and central universities, all seats at Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), and all seats at the Armed force medical college (AFMC), including Delhi University (DU), BHU, AMU, AIIMS, and JIPMER, are only available through the AIQ NEET counseling process. Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir are now included in the 15 percent All India Quota seats counseling process as of NEET counseling 2022 onward.
State Quota Seats for NEET UG Counseling: State NEET Counseling is conducted for admissions to 85% of seats in government colleges and all seats in private unaided/aided minority/non-minority medical/dental institutes in the state.
